This may be the most unusual subsection on WebBall. While the rest of the site, more or less, is devoted to tips to follow, the pages linked here are about what not to do. We present articles and discussion on the difficult topics of steroids and other artificial performance enhancement. We look at the moral and ethical problems as well as the health risks. We do this in the hope that we can address the issues with a measure of calmness and factual information to arm parents and coaches, as well as players, in the battle to keep - or restore - baseball's purist nature. We certainly welcome your contributions.
It should be noted that 3 states now test teenagers for performance-enhancing drugs. Texas began mandatory tests of high school athletes for steroids in September, instituting the toughest program in the United States that covers nearly 25,000 teenagers during the school year. (New Jersey and Florida are the other two states.)
