"The only mechanical point worth mentioning is the stiff front leg - with the heel on the ground. If you see legs go to jelly on a curveball - then the heel was probably not down."
You could stop reading this page right there and the lesson would be complete. But we have seen enough questions and arguments over the years to know that a good segment of the playing and coaching audience will want more, lots more.
Also, as you'll see in a subsequent lesson on lower-body triggers, the more important concern might be what the stride allows the hips to do - or what it keeps them from doing.
