The BatMaxx 5500 accurately measures a hitter's bat speed in miles-per-hour and the reaction time from a 'go' signal to the first laser beam interruption. This laser-based system is a practical, portable, measurement-based training station for consistent readings from swing to swing. Track bat speeds of all ages and skill levels and see how a player's performance compares after training adjustments. Or use it as a scouting aid in tryouts and team practices.
Laser technology is the key.
Rather than using reflective or radar-based technologies to generate data, the BatMaxx from TechnaSports uses pin-point laser beams to record mid-swing interval. When a bat interrupts two parallel laser beams shooting across the zone, it automatically calculates the speed. You don't need a reflective sticker on the bat for the BatMaxx to work. In fact the object moving can be either a wood or metal bat, it doesn't matter.
Set up for Live B.P. Use cages/screens to protect the electronics and you can use BatMaxx in tee, soft-toss and live B.P. drills - not just with dry swings. (You could also measure the speed pitches thrown through the laser zone.)

Laser Unit plus Speed Indicator Unit This is the base package for the BatMaxx 5500 (Patent Pending). The Laser Unit requires two AA batteries and the Speed Indicator Unit requires one 9-volt battery. This package also includes the Floor Stand so your BatMaxx can be set up freestanding indoors or out. Designed for quick tool-free assembly (uses a powerful magnet to attach the Laser Unit). The stand and arm retracts to fit easily in any carrying bag. Made of rust-resistant aluminum.
Flexible Mounting Arm
Allows you to mount the Laser Unit to a wall or post with wall bracket (included) - an excellent option for basement or garage. The Arm bends out of the way or can be quickly unscrewed from the bracket. The Laser Unit is held on with a powerful magnet. One wall bracket and one flexible mounting arm included.
External Display
Duplicates the data shown on the Speed Indicator display PLUS includes a bright red indicator light and audio signal activated during reaction time mode. (Audio can be turned off.) The External Display can be mounted to a wall, fence, or tripod in front of the batter or held by the coach. Easily connects to the BatMaxx 5500 Speed Indicator with 10 foot data cable (included). Requires one 9 volt battery (not included).
External Display Stand
Helps show the readings to both the batter and coach. The Tripod Stand retracts to fit easily into any carrying bag. Rust-resistant aluminum.
Hard-Shell Carrying Case
Foam inserts protect the BatMaxx 5500 from rough handling and damage, a good thing because the BaxMaxx system is completely portable. Case will hold Speed Indicator, Laser Unit, External Display and data cable (electronics not included)
