How we use the Glove Radar... One of the dangers in any measuring device is the temptation to compare players to each other. What we have done that works best is have a bullpen coach as the catcher and he keeps the absolute numbers to himself, but what he will announce is the differential between pitches thrown by the same player - to find the best fastball, or change-up or curve. So, for example, if the fastball is not consistent, or looses mph too quickly in a short session, we'll try to identify the problem. And we'll work towards getting a change-up that is imperceptible in delivery mechanics but arrives at the plate 10-12 mph slower. And we'll work on hard curves (only 4-7 mph less than fastball) as well as slower breaking balls. It is next to impossible to spot these difference without the Glove Radar.

Accurate doppler radar from any ballglove.
Officially endorsed by All-Century Center Fielder Ken Griffey Jr. to improve your throwing skills. The Glove Radar responds to the approaching ball just before it reaches the glove. It's not an impact sensor or timer, but a true short-range microwave Doppler radar, like the radar speed guns used in sports and law enforcement, but with much lower power - and much lower cost! Helps develop players' throwing ability by providing accurate velocity feedback from 20-120 mph!

By providing actual velocity data to reinforce coaching instruction, The Glove Radar is a great training device to help develop throwing mechanics for infielders, outfielders and catchers, as well as pitchers. Helps develop players' throwing capabilities by providing accurate feedback. Small, versatile, low-cost device affordable for youth and senior level teams and individual players.

Weighs only 3 oz., measures ball speed from 20-120 mph, accurate to within 1 mph of typical sports radar speed guns at comparable receiving positions. Note: Reads pitch velocity at the plate. Typical fastball drops approx 1 mph in velocity every 7 feet after release from fingertips.
Powered by a single cell lithium battery, the Glove Radar transmission level is well below most wireless consumer products such as cellular and portable telephones, for example. Transmission characteristics are well within FCC requirements and prescribed safety levels. Glove not included. 6 month replacement warranty from manufacturer, except battery/abuse.
