We know you have choices - in where you shop and what you pay. Obviously we believe you should buy from us. But you deserve reasons and reassurance.

First and foremost, the products we feature do not appear on our pages by accident; they've been selected because we believe they will help your playing or coaching. That means we evaluate them in use with players, or rely on recommendations from top instructors, or measure them against our own standards for instructional value and performance.

Second, you need to know that what we offer we will deliver - that you will pay a fair price, get good customer service, be treated with respect. All because your business is important to us - it allows us to keep the website growing. Are we perfect? No. Do we strive for perfection? Absolutely.

1. Pop-ups for Payment

WebBall uses pop-up windows to present the shopping cart and payment pages for your orders. We do this for customer convenience - you can still see site pages underneath as you shop - less bouncing back and forth. It also allows us to ensure transactions are handled securely through an encrypted https:// connection. If you have chosen to block pop-ups to protect yourself from other sites, there is a quick way to allow them from specific sites you are okay with (like WebBall). For example, in Internet Explorer there's a control panel accessed under IE's Tools menu... Pop-up Blocker... Pop-up Blocker Settings.  Please give permission to webball.com and va.eftsecure.net to your allow pop-ups list, by entering each of those domains and clicking "add". You can also, by the way, set a sound to occur when a pop-up you need is blocked - might remind you to adjust the settings (if you want) for other sites once you've done ours.

2. Products & Pricing

We believe the products we feature will truly help your playing or coaching. We don't inventory so we're under no pressure to sell anything unless it can help you. We feature unique items not easily found in local retail outlets. We work with manufacturers and distributors across the United States and Canada to obtain the products we like and provide them to you at the best possible price. And our Team Player program offers an across-the-board 10% discount.

As much as possible we have examined, worked with, and used the products ourselves extensively. With customers in all 50 states, all 10 Canadian provinces, and from many other countries, we get valuable feedback from users, too. Good or bad, we do want to know about about your specific experience with a product.

3. Shipping Charges & Policies

For items purchased through WebBall, shipping timing and cost will vary by product.

SOURCE: Most items come to you direct from the manufacturer/distributor. This saves time and cost as WebBall is not required to inventory these items or ship them twice (once here and once to you). Quoted shipping charges are US48 (see international below). We do it this way as we have many sources in many locations. There is no easy way to match your location with theirs prior to placing the order.

INTERNATIONAL: Items which cross national boundaries may be subject to customs/import inspection, taxes, duties and related handling - charges which are beyond our control. Expect shipping charges to Canada, Mexico and US outside 48 states to be at least 2-3X posted rate. However, added shipping charges to other countries are now becoming impossible due to rising fuel costs and UPS surcharges; we will quote if we think it might be viable, but we reserve the right to decline an order without seeking a specific quote - based on our knowledge of prior charges. International customer who are liable for customs/taxes/handling charges must pay these on delivery, to avoid additional charges to your credit card. If you refuse delivery on the basis of these charges, our refund policy applies.

TIMING: Due to factors beyond our control, we cannot guarantee a delivery time upfront. Most items take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, not including production time on custom orders. We request our sources get your items into the shipping channels as quickly as possible, but distance and shipping methods will vary. If a source is offering a special shipping program we will endeavor to make that available to you.

LIABILITY: Unless noted, all shipments require customer signature on delivery. If you request a package be left without signature then you are assuming all liability with regard to theft, damage, etc. once the package is placed on your doorstep.

RUSH SHIPPING: If you really need something sent RUSH, our best recommendation is to order it last week. Not all items are available on rush, and 'rush' only makes sense on items ordered Monday or Tuesday (otherwise there's a weekend in the way and regular shipping makes more sense). If you still want us to expedite shipping (3 day air) simply type 'rush shipping pre-authorized' into the special instructions box when you fill in your billing information. Expect that to double or even triple the ground shipping cost - varies by product and weight and is beyond our control.
 

4. Product Catalog

We don't offer a printed catalog because...
  1. A catalog is out of date as soon as printed. We add and change listings constantly (based on customer feedback, special offers, new items, etc.).
  2. On the website you can often click on product pictures and see enlargements that are even bigger than you would see in a catalog.
  3. A catalog, expecially in full color, would be expensive to print and mail - and we would have to charge more to recover the cost. By buying direct from the website you save!
  4. Subscribing to the opt-in WebBall newsletter will keep you up-to-date on new offers. It will also save you some money. Each newsletter includes a promotional code for a discount.
5. Shopping Cart Functions

When you add an item to your WebBall shopping cart, by clicking a 'Buy Now' button on the site, your choice is stored on our Cart system only for the current session and uses standard capabilities built into browsers. Please make sure your browser is set to handle scripting and session cookies (look under 'preferences').

6. Payments

US Dollars Only WebBall has visitors - and, therefore, potential customers - from at least three dozen countries. Baseball is growing in world popularity! We find, however, most people are aware of two currencies - their own and U.S. For this reason, all prices/purchases are in US dollars.

Credit Cards They're more than a quick, convenient way to shop, you have safeguards built in. Credit card transactions for WebBall purchases are in real-time. For proper tracking or your order, you must provide a properly formatted e-mail address.

Pay by Check Most schools and associations, as well as many coaches, players, and parents would prefer to pay by check. We will accept business/organizational check payments electronically but please check with your bank first to see if they have provided the necessary secure data to Equifax. Also please be aware that there may be a 3-4 business day delay on shipping of orders placed by check due to verification requirements. We also accept International Money Orders in US dollars (available at post office). Please contact us by email or phone for details. Note: There may be a 1-2 week delay on money-order purchases, but there would be 3-4 weeks on personal checks.

Purchase Orders If your school or association does not yet have established credit with us, we must do a credit check and the minimum first order is $500. Purchase order can be faxed to 604-944-7457 and will receive an accurate best-price quote. You may be required to pay in advance pending credit review. We recommend organizations such as schools use the electronic check payment option or reimbursement to coaches from credit cards.

7. Secure and Safe Shopping

This may be the most important concern to many shoppers. WebBall is committed to ensuring our order pages are as safe from tampering as possible. Security is important before, during and after the payment processing process.

About Payment Card industry (PCI) Compliance

The PCI Standard is a mandatory global standard established by the Card Associations to ensure the protection of cardholder data. Based on twelve guidelines, the PCI Standard requires merchants to make their physical and virtual environments secure to ensure protection of cardholder data. As a merchant accepting credit cards as a form of payment, we are required by the Card Associations to adhere to the PCI Standard.
The PCI standard encompasses the security programs from Visa and MasterCard, CISP and SDP, respectively.

The PCI standard sets technology requirements such as the use of data encryption, end-user access control, and activity monitoring and logging. It also includes procedural mandates, such as the need to implement formal and documented security policies and vulnerability-management programs. Compliance with the standard applies to all types of merchants, including retail and Internet. All merchants need to follow best practices for storage and destruction of all paper or electronic records containing account numbers or cardholder data. Additionally, merchant service providers processing credit cards need to be PCI compliant; WebBall and our providers follow all recommended practices.

All WebBall's on-line transactions are managed through secure methods in association with Sage Payment Solutions. To fully ensure security, Sage employs proven technology to transmit data safely and best practices procedures to safeguard consumer data.  Sage Payment Solutions is PCI compliant.

Your Role in Security

We recommend you have a browser which supports 128-bit encryption. Sage Gateway utilizes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) authentication and encryption technology. This is patented technology developed by Netscape Communications and relies on encryption developed by RSA Data Security, Inc. and other cryptographic providers. SSL encryption protects information being transmitted across the Internet from third parties.

You should also be aware of any current virus alerts and implement anti-virus software and a firewall to ensure your computer is protected. If unsure, you may call and place the order with us by phone so that your computer is not involved in the transaction.

Customers may request shipping to an address other than their card billing address, but other validation methods are in place to protect identity and the shipping may require a phone call from us or other methods to authenticate the transaction and further protect your card integrity.


8. Refunds and Warranties

As with shipping, refund and warranty policies for items ordered through WebBall are based on the manufacturer/distributor's own policies. Wherever these policies are known, we will post them on the site. Please do not assume any implied warranty or refund policy is in place. Custom items, videos, books, and software cannot be returned for refund unless due to manufacturing defect/error or unless manufacturer offers a money-back guarantee (most do not). Before returning an item for any reason, contact us first for authorization and for instructions as to where to send item (usually that's the manufacturer, not WebBall). If the return is due to defect, all costs are covered for return and shipping a replacement. (Refunds are not issued for warranty replacement.) On non-warranty returns (returned for any other reason, i.e. ordered by mistake), equipment must be returned new - no usage - complete and in original packaging. In which case refund will only be issued after inspection on receipt of item. Maximum refund amount will cover the item only, less 15% restocking fee where applicable. Shipping/handling charges incurred by WebBall, its suppliers, or the customer cannot be refunded.

9. Privacy and other concerns 

At WebBall, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Purchase transactions are as secure as possible and we do NOT sell or share customer lists or email addresses. We also try to ensure the protection of privacy with regard to your other dealings with WebBall. Please understand that if you send us a comment or contribution which we use, your email address may appear on the site. We do not accept submissions that are 'blind' but we will add characters to your email string which will prevent spiders and other web programs from extracting your address yet still make it possible for other WebBall visitors to reach you on an individual basis. It is also our policy not to publish the email address of anyone we know to be under age. And you can at any time request that your email information should it appear on WebBall be changed or deleted.
