Line-up Strategy

As with many of the new metrics, we will consider adding BABIP to our stats analysis for team sites hosted on WebBall.
When it comes right down to it, many coaches are looking for nothing more than a batter's ability to make something happen at the plate. Anything that puts the ball in play. Yet few, if any, teams track this specific variation on the standard batting average. So that's what we look at here.

For our final metric from our elite example, BABIP (batting average on balls in play), there are a couple of wrinkles to be aware of.
