Lineup Strategy
Continuing our look into the 2010 World Series (because it's a shared experience), it's important to understand that the situation with lead-offs and runners-on is about productivity.

Are the batters in the 1-9 slots successful given the opportunity?

To answer that question, we have split the tables by team, and by player, for the last two games of the series. (This is an exercise you should also do with your own team.)
  • Both games were played in Texas, and both were won by the visiting Giants.
  • Neither team had any offensives subs during games but the winning Giants did make a number of changes between games.
  • The tables on this page show the Giants (next page has the Rangers)
