Your Brain on Baseball

"Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?"
Other sections and pages on WebBall profess to teach, laying out the how-to instructions step by step. That's about WHAT to teach. But this series is about HOW we learn, and therefore HOW to teach.

Everyone, from the former pro player turned coach to the certified high school instructor, has their own theories and their own methods for teaching. But the first reality each new coach has to accept is that your experience won't help. Learning is complicated by the fact that every player starts without the context of your experience, and that's exactly where most coaches and players fail to communicate.
