A message from WebBall's head coach, Richard Todd...
I'd like to talk to you directly about coaching and training.
I write something called the WebBall Insider which is sent out by email - FREE. They get sent maybe every week, maybe less often, sometimes more frequently. You can read them right away, or wait several months until they get posted in the newsletter archive. Why would you do either?
Here's what some people have said...
These comments are in response to past newsletters (2010-2013)...
"I gotta' tell ya', Coach - I look forward to and read your WebBall emails with glee. Never have I met anyone who can so perfectly sum up the trials and tribulations of youth baseball as well as you do."
"Coach, you my friend are truly something special. Unbelievable insight and I can’t express how I have enjoyed reading your newsletters over the playoffs. I smile when I read them and just shake my head. I can just see you sitting there with your wheels turning 100 mph. You are most certainly blessed with a masterful mind of being able to strategically make sense out of every play. I have had just as much enjoyment reading your newsletters as I have watching the playoffs!!!"
"Coach, excellent info. Thank you."
"Richard- I receive an average of 38 emails a day. Some are orders, some inquiries, many are newsletters--sports related, business reports, technology updates, etc. Because I work over 100 hours per week, I often have to bypass some of the newsletters because of higher priorities for my time. But the ONE newsletter that I ALWAYS make time to read is YOURs!! Thank you!! Great stuff--compelling reading!!"
"Great conversation. Thanks"
"Thanks once again for all you do for baseball enthusiasts everywhere."
"Dear Coach: I have been reading your Insiders for a long time now....They are EXCELLENT!!! You are an EXCELLENT writer and obviously know a ton about baseball....It is very enjoyable to read your posts and to peruse your website."
"A note just to say thank you for all the time, effort and dedication you put in to bring us coaches out here the Nitti Gritty on all of the playoff games. It was not only great information but also great insight. I can assure you that it was very much appreciated by this old Aussie coach. I have saved them all and no doubt that if I have any brains will pull them out from time to time to keep refreshing my knowledge bank."
"Reading those newsletters only verifies something that I knew when I first discovered webball. You are the real deal. I am proud to be a part of webball!"
"Coach Todd, I have been a reader for years mainly because of my son and his criticism of what he calls my old ways of doing things concerning baseball. Now that he is in college and is fortunate enough to be playing for D-1 school I still forward sections to him that I think he will be interested in. Sometimes he thinks some articles are baloney and other times he is in agreement and there is that rare occasion that he will admit he learned something. All that withstanding, I appreciate that you have helped me maintain a friendly though competitive dialogue with my son all these years. Even though he has been successful, it's been the bond we developed that makes me happiest and your site was and still is one of the reasons so, THANK YOU!"
Still not convinced?
Several weeks or months after those Insider newsletters get sent out - and they only go to subscribers - WebBall will post a batch of them on this website. The catch is, they're posted in a place that only prior subscribers get to access once they log in.
That's the theory anyway.
FYI: The archive may no longer be updated. The thinking now is to group them by topic into downloadable PDFs in batches related to specific topics. If you like that idea, let us know.
But there's a programming glitch. Only those who've logged in are supposed to be given access to the newsletter archive directory. However, once you can see the directory, all the posted Insiders are readily viewable by everyone. So, if you have that hidden link to the directory, then you could bypass the login and get to any previous WebBall Insider newsletter - before you're an "official subscriber". How to get the link? Send me an email requesting it.
