When we first came across the story of Roland Hernandez and Rock Bats, it was overwhelming. His level of knowledge about wood is amazing. But some of his recommendations are radical - to say the least. Still, this is definitely a solid maple bat worthy of your consideration. One swing might be all it takes to win you over. - Richard Todd, WebBall
The solid maple bat you want to get your hands on
Solid maple bats from Rock Bats feature a combination of innovations that provide balance and performance
. Below is a summary of some of the innovations; for the full story,

Among the innovations:
- Sweet Spot identification: each bat is tested to determine its individual sweet spot center point, then marked with a diamond sticker.
- FORCE Technology: RockBats research has determined that Face-ORiented Contact is better for maple bats than hitting of the edge grain, so labels are reoriented. Keep the label up as always and you'll be making contact on the best surface for power.
- Slope of Grain: An 2008 MLB study determined that excess grain slope is a leading cause of bat breakage, so all RockBats comply with 2009 MLB Bat Standards for straight slope-of-grain, shown by the ink spot on the handle. Pro standards for all customers.
- All Rock Bats are end-cupped so you can see the grain and the wood's crown. This also allows the weight to be fine-tuned for best balance and performance.
Follow these steps for your Rock Bat...
1. Start by choosing your model...
Shape is a combination of barrel size & taper which affects swing weight and performance. Rock Bats has narrowed the possibilities to 3 best models.
Use the menu below to see and read up on each choice.
Choose from the model list above to review product details. Look for differences in barrel taper, knob, and end-weighting. Length is a personal preference. By featuring a slightly thicker handle, strength is increased dramatically, and weight will vary, usually somewhere between -2 and -3 drop adjusted to ideal balance when the bat is cupped.
2. Then place your order...
Once you decide from the choices above, set your chosen model number in the order form below. (
You can order multiple bats with different specs in the same order.)
Due to new pro rules (above), the primary choice for solid maple Rock Bats will be the Walker Finish (black barrel, natural handle), but all-black and all-natural bats are also available.
