The SwingAway has always been one of the best hitter training aids. The challenges were always availability and affordability. No longer. Now the pricing is better, and the units are moving. The current model lineup offers a SwingAway for every budget and requirement, from backyard youth training to the college and pro levels. I have been working with one of the new models and like the stability of the lower boom, the easy ball-height adjustment, and the versatility of the hitting mat for working on inside and outside pitches. You will, too. - Richard Todd, WebBall Head Coach
Use what the Pros use, at home and the ballpark
SwingAway offers the best hitter training station ever invented, in a range of models and options to suit every budget and situation, from the backyard to the diamond, from youth leagues to the pros.
The SwingAway has a patented bungee cord system and hitting mat. You can position the ball anywhere inside the strike zone and work on hits to any field. Plus it resets in 3 seconds - you can quickly take as many swings as your arms can handle.

Pro-Tested
The SwingAway has a great reputation among the pros, and is the first choice of elite teams and training facilities. In this video interview, Jason Giambi (then with Oakland) discusses his own experience with the SwingAway and explains why so many players rely on it for training.

Original & Still Best
While there are imitators, no other product comes close to the functionality and versatility of the original. Check out this blow-by-blow comparison between the SwingAway and one of its so-called competitors. With more swings in less time, your torso can work to develop power with quick repetition of true baseball movement. And your legs and hips will develop the muscle feedback and confidence to take with you into the game. Plus the SwingAway net, target zone and hitting mat are much better at helping you visualize the direction and trajectory of each hit ball.
The frame folds in seconds to be storable and portable. And Traveler frames fold in half to fit almost any vehicle. Plus with booms and tethers removed, the net works well as a rebounder for fielder training (
it can be tilted back or forward for pop ups and grounders).
The SwngAway Hitting Mat replicates the inner portion of the batter’s box with home plate. The roll-out mat is marked for both right- and left-hand hitters. Numbered baseballs show proper contact points and arrows help you line up the mat under the boom. You can work on pull hits, up-the-middle shots, and oppo swings for hit-and-run training. The SwingAway Mat is a also a great stand-alone tool to use during live batting practice, short toss, soft toss and tee drills.
A SwingAway for Everyone
The SwingAway Pro XXL (
left) is a large, powder-coated frame design for older teams. The SwingAway MVP (
right) has a more compact frame, is about 15 lbs lighter and is recommended for home use and younger age teams. Both feature the new matching top and bottom booms which tether the ball over the patented hitting mat. We believe the double-boom system keeps the ball center-aligned to increase the life of the bungee system.
J

Bryce Harper for SwingAway

In 2010, at the remarkably young age of 17, Bryce Harper, HS and JUCO phenom, was chosen the #1 draft pick and signed with the Washington Nationals. In Spring 2011, he also signed on with SwingAway ...an easy decision because Bryce has been using the hitting station since age 10. And his track record speaks for itself.
In 66 games at the college level, he hit 31 home runs, 98 RBI, hitting .443/.526/.987 (AVG/OBP/SLG) and was named the 2010 Conference Player of the Year. Competing towards the JUCO world series, Harper went 6-for-7 with 5 RBIs and hit for the cycle. The next day, in a doubleheader, he went 2-for-5 with a three-run double in the first game, and in the second game went 6-for-6 with 4 home runs, a triple, and a double.

What Bryce has accomplished in the beginning stages of his baseball career is not only impressive but unprecedented. Bryce is a very passionate and dedicated young player that constantly challenges himself to become the very best.
“I’m excited to become a part of the SwingAway family. They have the same strong commitment to helping young and elite baseball players elevate their games by becoming better hitters,” said Bryce Harper. "I am absolutely convinced that every player regardless of their age or ability should train on a SwingAway, because I’ve been hitting on the SwingAway since I was in Little League and still use it today. I am looking forward in working with them to make all players become better hitters.” - Bryce Harper, age 18
