Practice throwing inside pitches w/o risking teammates
You never throw a pitch that counts without a batter
in the box, so why practice that way?
The Designated Hitter is a silhouette figure of a batter, made of durable, space-age polymers. Standing in the batter’s box during pitching practice, it's a safe alternative to live stand-in batters, allowing pitchers to practice all pitches in a more game-like setting, especially those inside, jamming pitches.
The DH stands as a left-hand or right-hand batter, and won't tip over if hit (or charge the mound). It accurately represents key strike zone reference points like the knees, belt and elbows, and the removable drop line helps in training for the inner half against batters who crowd the plate. The rounded edges minimize dangerous deflections on contact.
The result is better prepared, more confident pitchers who throw more strikes. Great for helping young pitchers eliminate the fear of throwing to a live batter, helps older pitchers work on pitches with movement. Also helps catchers in learning ow to position themselves and throw to bases around the batter.
