13" H pattern in Kip leather. The Limited Edition AMA-136, introduced in 2006, is the game-day glove of all-star outfielder Manny Ramirez. Note: the webbing on this glove is blue, not grey.
Kip leather originated in Europe with tanning in Japan. Akadema uses U.S. steerhide put through this process. The result: Kip leather is 20% lighter and tighter grained than conventional steerhide. As a result Precision gloves are more pliable, easier to break in, with more tensile strength. They cost more but the improvement in fit and playability makes Akadema Precision an excellent choice for the serious ballplayer.
