The results shouldn't surprise anyone

We asked everyone to rank their reasons for playing baseball from most important to least. Then we took the rankings as a % of the maximum possible answer. And the resuilts should give coaches - and parents = a message. Skill improvement came out on top (but then this is WebBall asking after all!) But fun scored way up there, and winning way down. Sadly, or not, depending on your point of view - baseball is a game for the players, not the parents.

By the way, as at least one voter pointed out, while winning doesn't need to be over-emphasized, if fun is the objective, well it's more fun to win than lose.

Editor's Update:
We don't think we have to run this survey again, we just think it should be required reading by every coach & parent before the start of every season. For why that should be, check out some articles under the Coaching section.
