Reptilian Innovation
You won't believe it till you see. You won't truly appreciate it till you try it. The Akadema Reptilian® is the most surprising innovation in infielder's glove design since the introduction of webbing. Now with models for more positions including special Youth and Fastpitch models. Click here.
Top-grade, lighter, tighter leathers
Akadema now has three lines of premium gloves which feature Kip leather. The Precision label uses Kip leather which originates in Europe and is then tanned in Japan. Kip leather is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steerhide, so more pliable, easier to break in, with more tensile strength. Click here.
Kip leather is also used in the new Torino series.
Design innovation
behind the plate
In the insect world, the Praying Mantis devours its competition. Now conventional mitts face the same fate behind the plate. From the Spiral Lock web to the patent pending Stress Wedge and Double Flex-Hinge, this is the Next Generation catcher's mitt. Click here.
Pro styles for young hands
Akadema quality and design innovation sized for younger players with lighter leather backs and quicker playability with less break-in time. Click here.
Design innovation for casual players and the budget-minded.
When Akadema first introduced this line, they were intended only for the casual player. ProSoft gloves are made with lighter leather on the back side called Akadema Lyte, but maintain the Pro-calibre steerhide on the "business" side. As a result, they're easier to break in yet perform well in recreational league play. But the economical price point has found growing acceptance of ProSoft gloves among serious players, too. So much so that this is now Akadema's fastest growing line.
