On the cutting edge of sports technology
Akadema continues to evolve with specialty lines like Precision, Reptilian, Praying Mantis, ProSoft, and Prodigy. But they continue to be known best by the original Pro series models that earned them such strong support among current pro players and Hall-of-Famers. Click here.
Akadema Pro, Reptilian, Praying Mantis & other brands
Akadema's latest glove series takes "Kip leather" (a process which originated in Europe) and adds the classic beauty of a two-tone tan-and-chocolate finish. Kip leather is 20% lighter and tighter grained than conventional steerhide. So Torino gloves are more pliable, easier to break in, with more tensile strength, yet retain all the natural beauty of leather tanning.

Mesh + Kip Leather
Akadema has revolutionized the industry by making innovative gloves for infielders, outfielders, catchers and pitchers. Now Akadema continues its tradition of glove excellence with the new Platinum Glove Series. Combining mesh back with Kip Leather pocket and web, these gloves enhance style without sacrificing performance. Design innovation
behind the plate
In the insect world, the Praying Mantis devours its competition. Now conventional mitts face the same fate behind the plate. From the Spiral Lock web to the patent pending Stress Wedge and Double Flex-Hinge, this is the Next Generation catcher's mitt. Click here.
Top-grade, lighter, tighter leathers
Akadema now has three lines of premium gloves which feature Kip leather. The Precision label uses Kip leather which originates in Europe and is then tanned in Japan. Kip leather is 20% lighter and tighter grained than steerhide, so more pliable, easier to break in, with more tensile strength. Click here.
Kip leather is also used in the new Torino series.
Design innovation for casual players and the budget-minded.
When Akadema first introduced this line, they were intended only for the casual player. ProSoft gloves are made with lighter leather on the back side called Akadema Lyte, but maintain the Pro-calibre steerhide on the "business" side. As a result, they're easier to break in yet perform well in recreational league play. But the economical price point has found growing acceptance of ProSoft gloves among serious players, too. So much so that this is now Akadema's fastest growing line.
