The most unique feature of this 12" pattern glove, the ATY-132 (other than the light, strong Kip leather), is the double web which is combined with an open back, deep pocket.
Kip leather originated in Europe with tanning in Japan. Akadema uses U.S. steerhide put through this process. The result: Kip leather is 20% lighter and tighter grained than conventional steerhide. As a result Precision gloves are more pliable, easier to break in, with more tensile strength. They cost more but the improvement in fit and playability makes Akadema Precision an excellent choice for the serious ballplayer.
