Pro Ball Pitcher Evaluation Form
The key point - everything about you matters, not just the rankings from 2-8 on the scouting bureau scale or your raw velocity.
It all matters - even your shoe size!
Every part of your physical make-up , every strength - and weakness - becomes part of the pro evaluation process. Below are real categories, real values as used by the scouts of a major league ball club. In addition to physical factors and throwing ability, your mental make-up (do you challenge batters?) is considered, along with known injuries/illness and so on.

We have other pages with anecdotal insights into what makes a good pitcher. But this page is to show you how tough it really is to make the grade. It is based on the actual pitching evaluation forms used by an actual pro organization (and is similar to what other clubs use). |
